Troop 483 Home
        :::  Eagle Roll of Honor

CHARTERED SINCE 1974

Our troop was born twenty-six years ago this year. For a few short months, Allendale Junior High School PTA was our Charter partner. But the opportunity to, with the permission of the District #3 Fire Commissioners, meet at the Berg Road Fire Hall under the Charter of the Reserve Hose Fire Company came along and we were happy to move.

There were three Scouts signed up originally and we had one Scout attend our first meeting. The other two were ill. Since then we have grown to a Troop with four patrols of 10, sometimes 12 members and a full compliment of trained Junior staff to provide the leadership for a successful program. As the only Scoutmaster our Troop has ever had, I've served with a host of fine adults who without their contribution and dedication, the success of our Troop would only have been a dream.

Troop 483 has attended 25 Summer Camps, Philmont Scout Ranch 10 times, twice to the Florida Sea Base, every Jamboree since 1977 and five canoe trips and countless number of weekend camps and adventures. We are proud of our 70 Scouts on our Eagle Roll of Honor. We are proud of our Scouts serving on the Greater Niagara Frontier Junior Leader Training Course staff. We are proud of our leaders serving on Scoutmaster Fundamentals Training Courses and Woodbadge staffs. We are proud of our record in competition in our Silver Lakes District and Council activities.

Our Scouts have always stepped forward when help is needed. We help at telethons, with clearing hydrants, and Scouting for Food. We stand proud among our peers in West Seneca.

Over the years there have been as many stories told as there are Scouts and activities, but suffice to say that these scouts are among the finest boys a Scoutmaster could ever have the pleasure and priviledge of being associated with.

Stay tuned as we will update this history page as memories are related to us.
